The Assistant Director, Parent Engagement & Giving advances the College’s mission through supporting the planning and implementation of a comprehensive outreach, engagement and communications program that builds greater parent interest, involvement and pride in Pomona College. The Assistant Director serves as key member of the Office of Advancement and assists the Director, Parent Engagement & Giving to qualify, cultivate and solicit for annual and major gifts.
Bachelor degree is required or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of three years of professional work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required with a proven record of accomplishment and taking initiative. Demonstrated fundraising experience at an academic institution is desirable. Relevant corporate, non-profit leadership, or military experience may be substituted for fundraising experience. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and use discretion in working with sensitive and confidential information. Must have demonstrated effectiveness and clarity of verbal and written communication with excellent interpersonal communication and phone manners. Must have ability to work with diverse groups of students, alumni, faculty, and staff is required.
The regular hours for this full time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Overtime, holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.
