Loyola Marymount University has an opening for a Director of Annual and Leadership Giving to oversee all aspects of LMU’s $7-$8 million annual and leadership giving programs. Reporting to the Executive Director of Alumni Relations, Annual and Leadership Giving and Parent Programs and Parent Giving, the Director will develop and implement strategies to grow the University’s annual giving program with an emphasis on building the alumni donor base while growing the LMU Society, Loyola Marymount University’s leadership giving society, and increasing per capita giving in the context of the University’s next Comprehensive Campaign.

Additional responsibilities include: establish and meet the department’s annual qualitative and quantitative goals, objectives and key accountabilities in order to increase the number of donors and dollars raised; increase annual giving and overall alumni participation by developing and overseeing annual campaigns and fundraising plans for the University; develop sophisticated and effective strategies to increase revenue and responses to direct mail, phonathon, ephilanthropy, social media and personal solicitation; oversee, plan and implement an aggressive program to identify, cultivate, solicit, retain and steward LMU Society donors ($1000+); evaluate performance and communicate responsibilities and expectations effectively; coordinate the sharing of prospect and donor information with other development colleagues and collaborate with Directors of Development to ensure upward movement of prospects through the pipeline for major gifts; work in cooperation with other members of the development staff including Corporate and Foundation Relations, Prospect Research, Parent Programs and Parent Giving, Communications, and Development Services to develop fundraising strategies, identify new prospects and plan effective solicitations; partner with Alumni Relations and Student Affairs, including Athletics, in creating integrated strategic plans that further cultivate Alumni relationships, engages their passion and connects their interests to their annual support of LMU’s programs and students and ultimately advances LMU’s mission; develop and personally manage a portfolio of high end leadership level donors and prospects including face-to-face solicitations for annual support; and oversee a departmental budget and related vendor relationships.

We seek candidates who typically hold a bachelor’s degree, with a certificate and/or training in fundraising techniques.  Candidates should possess a minimum of eight years of fundraising and management experience with a track record that demonstrates solid fundraising success in leadership donor fundraising, direct mail, ephilanthropy, social media, phonathon programs, leadership gift clubs, stewardship and volunteer relations. Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills is essential, as well as highly developed interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills.
