Our Story

Annual Giving Network (AGN) was founded in 2010 to help annual giving programs at educational institutions connect with each other and exchange ideas. While it originally did so through its blog and online networking forums, it quickly grew in size and scope with expanded offerings that included a newsletter, case studies, special reports, and a job board. It began to host workshops and produce regular live interactive webinars led by the industry’s top annual giving professionals.

In 2015, AGN Plus – an institutional membership program – was launched to provide members with online training and instruction through its library of 100+ webinars, as well as advice and support from AGN’s team of annual giving experts. The AGN Plus Member community now stands at over 300 institutions with new resources and benefits added regularly.

Based just outside of Boston, AGN also offers a variety of annual giving consulting services including coaching for staff and volunteers, recruiting, program assessments, benchmarking and predictive modeling. Through these services, AGN has helped improve the productivity and efficiency of annual giving teams at more than 100 colleges, universities, and independent schools.

Today, AGN is the world’s leading resource and consulting firm for annual giving programs. It maintains a faculty of over 50 expert instructors, a resource library of over 1,000 templates and samples, a LinkedIn group of over 8,000 participants, a newsletter with over 40,000 subscribers, and a website with over 100,000 visitors. And while it has grown considerably over the past decade, AGN’s speciality remains annual giving and its mission continues to be helping educational institutions improve their annual giving efforts.
